‘Creative Arts Therapists are mental health professionals who use art, media, and the creative process to facilitate the exploration of feelings, improve self-awareness and reduce anxiety for clients.’

- Australian, New Zealand, Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) -

Art therapy reminds us that what we create is far less important than how we create. It is not the finished piece that holds meaning, but the unfolding that happens within and around us in the process. Each mark, each colour, each moment of pause becomes part of a larger journey - your journey - worthy of care, curiosity, and compassion.

When we allow ourselves to create, we begin to access deeper layers of our experience. Art can move beyond the limits of language, offering expression where words may feel insufficient or distant. In this way, images, shapes, and textures can hold stories, emotions, and truths that are waiting to be seen and felt. As the proverb goes - a picture is worth a thousand words - sometimes even more.

Art therapy exists as both a psychotherapeutic space and a nurturing ground for growth. It can support the development of fine motor skills, invite sensory exploration, and help bring the body and mind into a more integrated, balanced state. Open to people of all life stages and paths, it offers a safe, supportive space - one where you are free to express, discover, and reconnect with yourself in your own time and in your own unique way.

Services

Art Therapy In Person

In-person art therapy sessions provide a safe space where you can express your feelings in the presence of another human. In person sessions are facilitated via mobile service (I come to you). All art materials are provided for.

Art Therapy Online

Online art therapy sessions give you a safe and private environment to express your feelings from the comfort of your own space. Even though we are not in the same room, you will still feel supported and understood. Online sessions are a modern alternative to offering art therapy and can be just as moving and powerful as in person. Online sessions are conducted over Zoom.

Mixed Modality (Yoga and Art Therapy) In Person

In yoga we open up and return to the body, grounding ourselves in the present moment and opening up to the inner truth and purpose. In art we express that inner truth and purpose. I currently offer this combined modality in my practice. If you feel aligned with this please do not hesitate to contact me below.

Yoga

Yoga - as defined by patanjali - is the restriction of the fluctuations of consciousness.

Through breath, movement, and stillness, we can come to a place of peace within and without. Yoga and meditation have long been used to help process our inner world. Like art therapy which is not about the product but the process - yoga is not about the pose but the prakriya - or method. When we breathe and move in yoga its is not about making cool contortions with the body but about the inner processes that take place simultaneasouly in the physical body on the mat. Studies have shown that the combination of art therapy and yoga can be a powerful avenue for transformation, self-discovery, and growth. (Mixed modality sessions are only offered in person)

Collaboration

While I deeply value one-on-one therapeutic work, I am equally passionate about the power of the collective. I have experience co-facilitating multi-modal workshops and group therapy sessions, where art, mindfulness, yoga, and meaningful conversation come together to create spaces that nourish the mind, body, and spirit.

I believe in the richness that emerges when we come together with shared intention, and I welcome opportunities to collaborate with like-minded practitioners, community groups, and organisations. If you feel aligned, and sense that we could create something meaningful together, I’d love to hear from you.

Mission

Sharing the Healing Power of Art and Creative Expression: I want to show others how powerful art can be in helping us heal. Whether it’s through drawing, painting, writing, or any other medium, creating something can help us work through tough emotions, let go of stress, and find clarity. The process of creating is just as important as the final piece—helping us release feelings and find healing along the way.

Promoting Self-Expression, Reflection, and Understanding: Art gives us a chance to express our feelings when it is hard to put them into words. I want to create a space where people can express themselves freely, without judgment, and reflect on their experiences. Through creativity, we can learn more about ourselves, accept all of our emotions, and see them as part of our journey toward healing.

Supporting Mental Health Through Creativity: Sometimes, mental health struggles can make us feel alone, but art can help us connect with ourselves and others. I want to show how art can be a tool to support mental health—helping us explore our feelings, build strength, and feel supported. My goal is to provide resources and activities that help reduce stress, increase emotional awareness, and bring more peace.

Encouraging Mindfulness in the Creative Process: I want to help people stay present and mindful while they create. Mindfulness means paying attention to the moment, and when we add that to our art, it becomes a powerful way to stay grounded and heal. Through creative expression, we can reconnect with ourselves, find balance, and become more aware of our emotions and thoughts.

Finding Wholeness Through Creativity: Healing is about finding wholeness—it is about bringing everything together: our emotions, thoughts, body, and spirit. Art helps us express all these parts of ourselves, leading to a more balanced and truthful life. My hope is that by helping others use their creativity to feel whole, they will experience more peace and unity within themselves.

Pat

Art Therapist, MATh, AThR,Yoga Teacher, Mindfulness Facilitator

I am an Art Therapist based in South Western Sydney—in the lands of the Darug Nation. I am passionate about helping others, and believe in the wisdom that comes from interconnection. I have been through my own struggles with mental health, and through that journey did I discover the power of art and yoga for inner/outer transformation. Art has always been my way of self expression, whilst yoga has been my way of coming back to the body and the breath. Both of these practices have been a life long strategy for self regulation, reflection, and finding balance.

I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds, helping others to use creativity to understand themselves, express their feelings, and find wholeness. I am also a trained mindfulness facilitator and life long practicioner of yoga. I am open to integrating these practices into sessions if wanted.

I believe in, and deeply value holding space for others to explore their feelings and express themselves in their own unique way, honing the ability within all of us to reconnect with our inner worlds, to find inner strength, and healing.

I come from a CALD background, and identify as part of the LGBTQI+ community. I acknowledge and pay my respects to the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia especially those of the Cabrogal Clan in which I dwell.
